Chocolate Packaging Demo

This project challenged me to design outside of my comfort zone and use large amounts of color, imagery, and pattern. The project was a design spec for a fictional chocolate packaging company looking to market to it's niche consumer. White Out Bars is a protein chocolate bar company developed as a meal replacement bar for music festival attendees looking to have a quick meal in between concert sets. The curated imagery of festival goers, along with the themed illustrations gives the bars a whimsical, free-spirited design.

chocolate bar cohesion

Each of the five bars used a color scheme that incorporated the bright, vibrant, colors found at music festivals. All of the imagery features a mix of realistic, bitmapped photography as well as hand-made illustrations in a graphic, flat style.

Repeating elements

All five bars had similar background textures to add cohesion and an overall look to tie the brand together. A modern and contemporary type face elevates the design, and the color blocks on each side create a repeating element that creates one large color block.

Unique Imagery

The front of each bar featured imagery from a specific music festival held in the U.S. each year. The logo and illustrations following the theme of each festival can be found on the front of each of the five bars.
